Certified translation in the Czech Republic

In the Czech Republic, a certified translation (soudní překlad) is produced by a translator registered on the official list of court interpreters and translators kept by the Ministry of Justice. The translation is bound to the original or a certified copy, fitted with a certification clause and a round official seal, and is accepted by authorities, courts, registry offices, universities and employers.

When you need a certified translation

Almost every Czech institution asks for a certified translation when you submit a foreign-language document – and foreign authorities usually require the same for Czech documents. Typical cases are marriage to a foreign national, residence permits and citizenship, recognition of education, company registration, court proceedings, inheritance and vehicle registration.

If the document will be used abroad, it often also needs an apostille or consular legalisation. We handle the whole chain, from translation and legalisation to delivery.
